Cuisinart CGG-200 All-Foods Table Top Propane Gas Grill Review

You might typically expect a compact ultra portable propane grills to be lacking in the heat and BTU department. Not the Cuisinart CGG-200 Gas Grill, it is the perfect size for use in small yards and while camping. And with an output of 12,000 BTUs of heat evenly distributed across the grill, food gets cooked quickly.

The twist mechanism makes starting the grill a snap, a single steel burner heats up the grill to optimum grilling temperatures within minutes, the CGG-200 can often reach temperatures as hot as 500 degrees Fahrenheit. The porcelain enamel coated cast iron grate has space to cook enough food for up to 8 people. Of course that is not all that is good about this grill, read on.

 

There is no more guessing the temperature inside the grill with the conveniently placed temperature gauge that precisely displays the internal temperatures of the grill. This is perfect for easily and accurately reaching the ideal grilling temperatures for a variety of different meats.

Weighting in at 35 pounds, the Cuisinart is a highly portable grill. For storage, the two side shelves slide and fold away making it an easy fit in tight spaces. A pair of attached handles makes carrying the grill hassle free.

The grill is designed to accommodate 14.1 or 16.4 ounce propane canisters, alternately with the separate purchase of a Cuisinart 4-Foot LP Adapter Hose, you can hook up the grill to a 20 pound propane tank.

The strong and durable steel lid uses a double wall design to insulate the grill and prevent heat loss. The frame, cooking grate, and flame tamers are coated in heavy duty porcelain enamel for greater heat resistance–even at a high temperatures. Despite being a compact grill, the cooking grate provides about 240 square inches of grilling space, with no hot or cold spots that resulted in uneven grilling. Each side of the grill is designed for different sets of meats. The flattened side of the grate is perfect for creating those bold grill lines on steak and poultry. With the modular panel system its possible to cook a wide variety of other foods such as veggies, breads and even pizzas all using different separately purchased cooking panels (veggie panel included with grill).
